Shipping a Firearm For Service

Once you have made the (very good) choice to send your firearm to Allegheny Gun Works for service or customization you should follow these steps to ensure it arrives in an efficient and trouble-free manner.

Contact Allegheny Gun Works by phone or email to confirm that:

We are accepting new work at that time.
Get the anticipated turn time for your project.

Ensure your firearm is unloaded

Ensure your firearm is unloaded then wrap it up in preparation for shipment, a generous amount of bubble wrap is best. Please include a printed work order form with the specific work you’d like done selected from the menu or detailed in the Notes box. Next place the firearm and paperwork in a suitable sized box and tape it up well. Please do not send any bags, cases, or accessories not required for the work you want performed as your packaging will not be returned.

Ship on your own or get a discount with FedEx

You are more than welcome to ship your firearm on your own but as we have a long-standing relationship and trust FedEx more than other carriers we can provide you with a discounted shipping label. If you are interested, please Contact us via email with the dimensions of the box you have selected, your full name, address, phone number, and email address. We will email you the label and can add the shipping charge to your final invoice.

Drop off the package

Drop off the package at any FedEx pickup location convenient to you, or call 1-800-GO-FEDEX to schedule a pick-up at your location. Please note the tracking number provided to you as this will allow you to verify that your firearm has arrived at our facility. If the tracking shows it has been delivered, we have it and we will only call you if there is an issue with the delivery. Please do not call to verify we have received your item! The more time we’re on the phone, the less time we have to work on yours and everyone else’s guns.

Please Note

Your firearm must be returned to the address that it was shipped from originally.

If this is an issue please let us know as soon as possible to make other arrangements! If shipping to the originating address is not possible, we will only ship the firearm to an FFL.
